The Traditional Experience

During the traditional experience, you’ll go in and meet with a lawyer who will often make things seem very complicated and confusing. You’ll have the lawyer prepare documents for you and you’ll sign them. You’ll take your planning binder home, stick it on a shelf, mark "Estate Planning" done on your checklist and never think about it again.

Your lawyer mentions moving your bank accounts into the trust. You call your lawyer’s office, get a voicemail, and wait hours or days for a callback. By that time, you're busy with other things and never get around to moving that bank account. Then, you get a bill in the mail for $125 for 15 minutes of your lawyer’s time for answering a couple of questions.

Your children will get older, making your guardianship choices outdated, but you don’t want to call your lawyer because you know you’ll get a bill in the mail two weeks later.

It’s not until you become incapacitated or die that your family will realize your plan is so outdated that it has nothing to do with your life, your assets and the law. They don’t know where to turn or what to do, so they contact the same lawyer you used to prepare the documents, who is happy to probate your assets in court.

Rozita Yacobi is the founder of Paradigm Legacy Planning, APC. After graduating from law school, she immediately went into practice serving the community. As a woman dedicated to her family and three children, she understands the importance of planning for your family's future and building your own legacy. She is the trusted adviser to her clients because she builds meaningful relationships.
Rozi started her legal career as an immigration and estate planning attorney. However, as a she gained greater insight into the traditional model of estate planning, as a mother, she realized that a big gap exists between structuring standard estate plans and the needs of families with minor children. Rozi began to cover this gap with her expertise in estate and tax planning, asset protection and kids' protection planning.
Rozi believes that the foundations of a successful family unit are care, love, and selflessness. She takes pride in providing her clients with the sense of comfort and security that comes along with having an effective and comprehensive plan in place.
